February: It's about time
We celebrated the new year in Mexico City, a place rich in history and artistic expression. From the sculptures, paintings, and architecture of the Aztec, Maya, and Olmec civilizations to Spanish influences and modern Mexico, creativity thrives everywhere. Vibrant street festivities bring this history to life. We explored many galleries and museums, including the outstanding Museo Nacional de Antropología and Museo Soumaya. Mexico never fails to inspire us.
As we reflect on history, we see its patterns repeat. Global challenges today—conflicts, power shifts, and environmental concerns—echo the past. Yet, February reminds us of resilience and celebration. It marks Black History Month, National Women’s Inventors Month, and even fun observances like National Birdfeeding and Grapefruit Month.
Valentine’s Day on February 14 is the day to share love with those near and far. We see hearts everywhere. Mexican tin hearts have inspired us to create our Tin Heart Shoes collection.
Family Day in Canada is celebrated on February 17. It’s a time to cherish loved ones—including pets! The love and companionship they provide is immeasurable. Additionally, National Justice for Animals Week (February 16-22) reminds us of the importance of animal welfare. We’re adding new animal graphics to our Wild At Heart collection in the spring.
Thinking about time—past, present, and future—has led to our latest project: the TIME collection. With humour and wit, our new clock designs invite us to reflect on how we perceive and spend time.
We look forward to launching TIME in February. Stay tuned for the official date in our next blog!
Hasta luego amigos
